How to Use Revival Medium Cut Compound
Step 1: Wash the surface thoroughly with Revival Wash & Wax Boat Soap to remove any dirt, salt, and oils. Dry completely before beginning the polishing process.
Step 2: (Optional) If heavy oxidation is present, first correct it using Revival Heavy Cut Compound for the best final finish.
Step 3: Shake the bottle vigorously to ensure the diminishing abrasives are fully mixed and ready for consistent performance.
Step 4: For heavier correction, apply four dots of Revival Medium Cut Compound onto a yellow wool pad attached to a rotary polisher.
For a swirl-free, ultra-gloss finish, apply four dots onto a foam polishing pad paired with a 21mm dual-action (DA) polisher.
Step 5: Work in 2x2-foot sections, spreading the compound evenly across the area.
Step 6: Set the rotary polisher between 1200–1800 RPM, or use setting 3–4 on a DA polisher. Apply medium to light pressure to refine the surface without over-cutting.
Step 7: Buff each section using a cross-hatch pattern. This method ensures uniform polishing and maximum gloss.
Step 8: After polishing, wipe the area thoroughly with a clean microfiber towel to reveal a deep, swirl-free shine.
Final Step: Always follow up with a protective layer like Revival Premium Boat Wax or Revival Marine Ceramic Coating to lock in the gloss and defend against future damage.
